Alexandria and Tyler were visiting Colorado Springs for the first time from Texas. These two started dating a year ago and quickly fell in love. Tyler works in the oil field and doesn't get many days off during the year, so this trip was extra special for both of them. While in town they took full advantage of their time together and explored many of the unique things this area has to offer, even taking the Cog Railway up the summit of Pikes Peak at an elevation of 14,115 feet.

The night before their session, I got a text from Tyler letting me know that he was planning to propose to Alex during the photo shoot. I was so excited and honored to capture such a special moment. As soon as we met the next day, I could immediately feel their love and connection. They totally embraced the session and were up for all of my suggestions. When the time came where Tyler got down on his knee, none of us could keep the tears back. I captured the intimate exchange from afar, giving them space to bask in their emotions and excitement. Sometimes I have to pinch myself in those moments because it feels surreal to witness such a monumental moment in a couples' lives. The feeling never gets old no matter how many engagements I photograph.

After giving them time to take in what had just happened, we finished up with some more photos to show off Alexandria's stunning new ring and their giddy smiles before wrapping up our time together. Funny enough, it wasn't long before I saw them again as we ended up running back into each other later that night at one of my favorite bars downtown.

I am already looking forward to their wedding - coming 2026!
