Some moments feel almost too special to be real — and Jonah and Addy’s surprise proposal at Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs was one of those once-in-a-lifetime moments.
Visiting Colorado together, these two have shared years of memories long before this day. Jonah and Addy met as freshmen in high school back in 2018 and have been inseparable ever since — growing up side by side, adventuring together, and recently welcoming their first baby boy into the world. This trip felt like the perfect opportunity to celebrate their journey and step into their next chapter.
Jonah had clearly poured so much thought and intention into planning this proposal. One of my favorite moments happened even before the proposal itself. As Jonah and Addy walked down from the parking lot toward the setup, Addy suddenly panicked, thinking the candles and flowers were meant for another couple — and that they were about to accidentally ruin someone else’s big moment. Watching her try to process it all, only to realize seconds later that this was actually for her, was pure magic. The shock, the joy, the instant emotion — it was one of those reactions you can’t plan or recreate.
Once the realization set in, everything else melted away. Surrounded by the dramatic red rock formations and Pikes Peak backdrop of Garden of the Gods, Jonah got down on one knee and asked Addy to spend forever with him. The rest of the session unfolded naturally — full of happy tears, quiet embraces, laughter, and that glowing, just-engaged joy that makes moments like this so powerful to photograph.
This proposal was romantic, intimate, and deeply meaningful — a reflection of a couple who has grown together through every season of life and is continuing to choose one another, again and again.
