From a high school crush in Kentucky to an engagement in Colorado, Maria and Keith’s story has come full circle in the sweetest way.
These two when on their first date they were just 15. Eventually, life took them in different directions as they headed off to separate colleges and started building lives of their own.
Years later, somehow, they both ended up in Colorado.
Maria moved to Denver after college, and about a year later, Keith was stationed in Colorado Springs. After years of not seeing each other, he reached out, they went on another date, and this time—it stuck.
Fast forward to their engagement, and the mountains that played a part in bringing their lives back together became the perfect backdrop for their photos.
For their Pikes Peak engagement session, Maria and Keith wanted something natural, romantic, and laid-back. They love hiking, camping, and spending time outdoors together, so choosing a location surrounded by Colorado's mountain scenery couldn't have felt more fitting.
Maria mentioned beforehand that neither of them felt particularly comfortable posing in front of a camera. She wanted their personalities to come through: Keith's goofy side, her quieter personality, and the playful dynamic they have together.
So instead of focusing on stiff poses, we kept things moving. Lots of laughing, cuddling, exploring, and simply letting them be themselves. We mixed intimate close-ups with wide, scenic photos that showed off the mountains around them, giving them a gallery that felt romantic while still capturing the fun, easygoing relationship they described.
And honestly, that's exactly what an engagement session should feel like.
