This particular session at Garden of the gods will go down as an all-time favorite. When Niki reached out a few months ago, she had a unique vision of moments being captured amongst two generations. She and her husband Joseph were coming to visit her in-laws who had recently moved to Colorado Springs. Niki explained that she wanted photos of she and her husband and also wanted to include her in-laws, Antia and Vincent, as their love story is a big inspiration to them.

Originally from Norway, Joseph's mom Anita moved to the U.S. in her early twenties to work as an au paire. Not long after her arrival, she met Vincent and they fell head over heels in love. Their whirlwind romance has since led to a thriving 37+ years of marriage, four grown children, and countless adventures around the world together. In her questionnaire, Niki said that she's never seen a couple who have been together for so long and be so in love and that she feels lucky to be married to their son. *awwwww*

Garden of the gods was the location they chose for the session, describing it as the ultimate Colorado Springs destination. After our initial introductions, I took photos of each couple followed by photos of the whole group. Then we found a more remote area where they spread out a blanket and enjoyed some homemade Norwegian treats that Anita had prepared. Complete with hot chocolate, crackers, and jam... their picnic was picture-perfect.

It was such a joy to capture this sweet family whose kindness and generosity did not go unnoticed They even sent me home with a nice tip & a Norwegian chocolate bar!
