Fall is one of the most beautiful times of year for a couples session on Pikes Peak Highway, and this session was a perfect example of why. Karan and Sue booked a couples photography session while visiting Colorado, excited to explore the mountains and capture their love in a place that reflects their shared passion for nature and hiking. What Sue didn’t know was that Karan had been planning a surprise proposal.

Originally from Canada, their story began with their first date back home—but Colorado became the setting for one of their biggest milestones yet. Pikes Peak Highway in the fall offers some of the most iconic scenery in Colorado for engagement photos and proposals. As we moved through the winding mountain roads and scenic overlooks, Karan and Sue soaked in the experience together. Their session was relaxed, playful, and full of genuine connection—the kind that makes photographing couples feel effortless.

During the session, Karan dropped down on one knee and proposed with the fall colors and mountain views stretching out behind them. Sue said yes, and the moment was filled with joyful laughter, happy tears, and that unmistakable just-engaged energy.

Capturing surprise proposals and couples sessions on Pikes Peak is always special, but Karan and Sue’s session stood out for the way they showed up as themselves—present, joyful, and completely in love. From their shared love of the outdoors to the way they make each other laugh, their connection made every photo feel meaningful and real.
