If you're dreaming of a mountain engagement session near Colorado Springs, it's hard to beat Woodland Park. With beautiful views, golden light, and plenty of space to explore, it's one of my favorite locations for capturing couples in a way that feels natural and authentic.
Becca and Caleb's engagement session was the perfect example of that.
Their story began with a movie date the summer after 8th grade, and they've been by each other's side ever since. They dated throughout high school, navigated a long-distance relationship during college while Caleb attended school in California and Becca stayed in Montana, and eventually the Army brought them to Colorado Springs in 2023. In March 2026, Caleb proposed, and now they're counting down the days until they say "I do."
When planning their engagement session, they told me they wanted their photos to feel joyful, playful, and full of movement. They aren't overly serious people—they love laughing together and enjoying each other's company. Naturally, their sweet pup, Tiny, had to join us for the beginning of the session before we let her relax while we captured a few moments of just the two of them.
From wandering through the fields to chasing the last bit of evening light, these two made every moment effortless. Their friendship is the foundation of their relationship, and it shows in every smile, every laugh, and every quiet moment they shared together.
One of my favorite things about photographing engagement sessions is creating an experience that feels relaxed and fun. My goal is never to force awkward poses but to help couples connect, be yourselves, and leave with photos that genuinely reflect who you are.
